Community Initiatives

Community Initiatives is a non-profit fiscal sponsor that shares its 501(c)3 status with 100 projects serving our communities. Fiscal sponsorship with Community Initiatives enables individuals and groups, working together, to create and invest in projects that benefit the public. Projects are supported with fiscal sponsorship, financial management, human resources, grants management services, strategic planning, and social media consultations.

(This project is a subcontract through Mission Minded.)

We initially hired Lauren to assess our use of social media. We knew we were not being strategic or effective, but it took the Comprehensive Social Business Assessment to help us understand why and what we needed to do to find our unique voice to engage our community and build our brand image. We were so pleased with Lauren’s work, we made her an integral part of our team and with her support started regularly writing a blog, producing a monthly newsletter, and being more interactive and productive on social media.

As Lauren worked with us, she also trained certain staff on social media and focused my efforts on Twitter, where I was much more comfortable. As a nonprofit fiscal sponsor, our projects in our network feel fortunate to have the counsel and advice of someone with Lauren’s expertise. She has helped dozens of our fiscally sponsored nonprofit projects with social media strategy, analysis, and crisis management. Projects regularly rave about the training and actionable advice they receive during consultations with Lauren. While she understands nonprofits, it’s her people skills and deep expertise on all aspects of social media that have made her services invaluable. Theresa Fay Bustillos
